Job Description

Apply medical coding expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through accurate, real-world clinical coding input. This remote contract role focuses on creating and validating high-quality medical code datasets; prior AI experience is not required. Key Responsibilities

• Annotate and review medical records, assigning accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes based on clinical documentation.
• Apply official Evaluation and Management, E&M, leveling guidelines to validate and enhance datasets.
• Use current coding references to maintain compliance with applicable coding standards.
• Communicate in writing and verbally with project stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities in clinical documentation.
• Provide detailed feedback on coding guidelines and edge cases to improve workflows and AI model understanding.
• Contribute subject-matter expertise to the development and validation of medical coding datasets used for AI training.

• Active AAPC Certified Professional Coder, CPC, certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding, ICD-10, CPT, and E&M leveling guidelines.
• Experience working with varied clinical documentation types and their coding challenges.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with close attention to detail.
• Access to current official ICD-10 and CPT coding books and E&M guidelines.
• Familiarity with digital annotation tools or data-driven projects is preferred.
• Commitment to quality, accuracy, and ongoing learning in a changing healthcare and technology environment.

• Remote contract engagement.

• $55 to $68 per hour.
